Stack Overflow Kynetx App Idea 01/11/11
I had a fun idea creep into my head this morning of creating a Kynetx app that could be used on Stack Overflow. Kynetx has a vested interest in making sure that questions on Stack Overflow tagged with “KRL” are answered well and in a timely manner. Because we are really busy, we also don’t have time for everyone to try and answer a question at the same time which is where the Kynetx app idea comes into play.
What if there were a Kynetx app that would show which Kynetx employees have viewed the KRL tagged question? What if a Kynetx employee could “claim” the question or mark it as “currently being answered by #{name}? What if a Kynetx employee could view the question, which would mark as viewed by them, but mark it in a way that said, “I don’t really have time for this” or “I’m not the best person to answer this”. There could also be some irc or Yammer integration into this but I’m not sold on that part yet.
Having this app would help the company make better use of time and would also help ensure that KRL tagged questions get timely answers. What do you think? Can you think of similar use casses for your company or other companies? What would you change? Does this idea make you think, “I want that!”?
